Vessel Document Service Outlet (Gerai E-BKP) with Marine and Fisheries Agency of West Java Province

APRI and Marine and Fisheries Agency of West Java Province Host Electronic Vessel Document (E-BKP) Service Outlet and Fishermen Vessel Measurement to Support Sustainable Fisheries

9-10 October 2025. Cirebon. As part of a commitment to sustainable fisheries and global traceability standards, the Indonesian Blue Swimming Crab Association (APRI), in collaboration with the Marine and Fisheries Office of West Java Province, conducted a service event for the Electronic Fishermen Vessel Book (E-BKP) and vessel measurement for crab fishermen.

The E-BKP is a vital document that supports compliance with the U.S. Marine Mammal Protection Act (US MMPA), regulated by NOAA. This digital vessel registry helps ensure traceability and accountability in Indonesia’s crab supply chain, aligning with international sustainability requirements.

The event was attended by various stakeholders, including processing units (UPI), fishermen, suppliers, the Port Authority of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF) at PPN Kejawanan, DKPP Cirebon, and DKP West Java. Their collective participation underscores a shared commitment to accelerating the issuance of E-BKP and maintaining a sustainable and legally compliant crab supply chain.

This initiative reflects Indonesia’s ongoing efforts to enhance the transparency, legality, and sustainability of its blue swimming crab fishery, ensuring it remains competitive and accepted in global markets.
