The APRI Youth Research and Innovation 2026 program has officially entered its next exciting phase! Selected student researchers have arrived at their respective field sites, ready to dive deep into sustainable fisheries management on the ground.

A major highlight comes from the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) team, who have officially commenced their field research in Fisheries Management Area 571 (WPPNRI 571) (Strait of Malacca and Andaman Sea).

Armed with enthusiasm, scientific rigor, and a passion for conservation, these young researchers will focus on comprehensive data collection, ecosystem observation, and direct engagement with local fishing communities.

This journey goes beyond academic research—it is a tangible contribution from the younger generation toward strengthening blue swimming crab fisheries data and responsible ocean governance.

Stay tuned and join us in supporting the research journey of the USU team and all young researchers of APRI 2026!
