APRI Supports Government Policy on Small Vessel Document to Strengthen Fisher Identity and Traceability
by adminapri September 29, 2025 0 commentsMonday, June 16, 2025 – The Indonesian Blue Swimming Crab Association (APRI) continues its commitment to supporting government policies, particularly in the implementation of PAS Kecil (Small Vessel Registration Certificate) as a key component of fisheries traceability.
The benefits of PAS Kecil go beyond serving as a database for the government. This certificate provides clear legal identity for small-scale fishers, which in turn facilitates access to government assistance, safety protections, and broader recognition of their role in the national fisheries sector.
As part of its ongoing efforts, APRI, together with one of its members — PT. Sumber Kemenangan Sejahtera Abadi (SKSA) — participated in a stakeholder meeting with the Harbormaster Office (KSOP) of Tanjung Pakis, Lamongan Regency. A key point of discussion was the importance of collaborative efforts in enhancing the competitiveness of blue swimming crab products that are both sustainable and traceable, ensuring that downstream supply chains continue to drive the coastal economy.
Following the audience meeting, PT. SKSA took proactive steps by coordinating with KSOP Tanjung Pakis, the Fisheries Branch Office (Cabdin KP) of Tuban in Paciran, the Lamongan District Fisheries Office, local fisher groups (Rukun Nelayan), and other key stakeholders to fulfill the necessary requirements for issuing PAS Kecil for blue swimming crab fishers.
This initiative marks another milestone in APRI’s broader mission to improve governance in small-scale fisheries, ensure compliance with traceability standards, and support coastal communities through inclusive and collaborative approaches.
