APRI Year-End Quarterly Meeting 2025 to Strengthen Sustainable Blue Swimming Crab Fisheries 2026

On Friday, 28 November 2025, the Indonesian Blue Swimming Crab Association (APRI) held its Year-End Quarterly Meeting (Q4) 2025 in Semarang. The meeting gathered all APRI members both physically and online, discussing key strategies for the development of Indonesia’s blue swimming crab industry.

An opening speech by the Chairman of APRI, Dr. Ir. Kuncoro Catur Nugroho, M.M., who presented an overview of the business outlook as well as the current condition of the blue swimming crab fisheries and the challenges expected to be faced in 2026.

The event was also attended by Prof. Sri Redjeki, Dr. Ir. Sri Redjeki, M.Si., in relation to the Decree of the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (Kepmen KKP) Number 38 of 2024 concerning the Betahwalang Conservation Area, as well as Prof. Dr. Dian Wijayanto, S.Pi., M.M., M.S.E., an academic from Diponegoro University (UNDIP) and a member of KOMNASKAJISKAN.

Also in attendance were Mr. Achmad Saefus Sjahari, A.Pi., M.M., representing the Conservation Area Management Organizational Unit, and Mr. Bambang Sigit Sugiharto, S.St.Pi., M.Si., Head of the Sub-Directorate of Fisheries Port Harbormaster Affairs at the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, along with his delegation.

The event was attended by APRI board members, industry representatives, sustainability partners, government stakeholders, and several invited speakers who delivered insights on fisheries management, aquaculture, and sustainability implementation. In total, 24 APRI members participated in the strategic discussion. The meeting took place in Semarang, Central Java, one of the central hubs for blue swimming crab supply chain coordination and policy discussions in Indonesia.

This agenda concluded APRI’s quarterly meeting cycle for the year, summarizing achievements, challenges, and sustainability progress throughout 2025. The meeting plays a strategic role in:

evaluating sustainability progress ; identifying supply chain challenges ; preparing 2026 business outlook ; strengthening international market competitiveness ; implementing blue swimming crab traceability ; discussing aquaculture potential and conservation initiatives

The discussion also emphasized the importance of sustainability and compliance for long-term global market access, especially under international requirements such as the MMPA.
