Honest Crab and APRI Collaborate on Blue Swimming Crab Restocking in Situbondo

Situbondo, August 26, 2025 – The sea has given us so much — now it’s our turn to give back.

In a joint effort to protect and preserve Indonesia’s valuable marine resources, Honest Crab by Crabcraze, in collaboration with the Indonesian Blue Swimming Crab Association (APRI), has launched a restocking and stock enhancement program for blue swimming crab (Portunus pelagicus).

The restocking activity took place along the coastal waters of Situbondo, East Java, where juvenile crabs were released back into their natural habitat to help replenish wild stocks and support the sustainability of one of Indonesia’s key fisheries commodities.

This initiative reflects the shared commitment of industry and stakeholders to marine conservation, responsible sourcing, and the long-term health of coastal ecosystems. It also strengthens the role of private sector players like Honest Crab in supporting environmental stewardship and sustainable fisheries practices.

Through science-based strategies and collaboration with local communities, APRI and its partners continue to champion sustainability and traceability across Indonesia’s blue swimming crab supply chain.
