On Tuesday, May 12, 2026, M. Bagus Satria, General Manager of FIP APRI, attended a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) organized by Bank Indonesia, focusing on the Fisheries Downstreaming Business Model: Marine Fisheries. The session also welcomed Ir. Bambang Arif Nurgraha, MBA, Advisor of APRI, along with APRI members who actively contributed to the discussion.

During the forum, APRI highlighted the significant potential of Indonesia’s blue swimming crab (rajungan) fisheries as a high-value export commodity. APRI also presented updates on the Fishery Improvement Project (FIP) for blue swimming crab, emphasizing sustainable fishing practices, supply chain improvement, and compliance with international standards.

The discussion underlined the importance of developing a robust fisheries downstreaming strategy to enhance value-added products, strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesia’s seafood industry, and support sustainable economic growth. Collaboration between key stakeholders—including regulators, industry players, and financial institutions like Bank Indonesia—is essential to build a more integrated, efficient, and sustainable fisheries ecosystem.

APRI’s participation in this FGD reflects its commitment to advancing the Indonesian blue swimming crab industry and accelerating the transition toward a sustainable and integrated seafood supply chain, positioning Indonesia as a global leader in responsible fisheries.
