Gresik, October 5, 2026 — The Indonesian Blue Swimming Crab Association (Asosiasi Pengelolaan Rajungan Indonesia – APRI) successfully held a training session focused on handling Endangered, Threatened, and Protected (ETP) species and marine mammals, alongside sustainable blue swimming crab fisheries data recording. The event took place in Kramat Village, Gresik Regency.

This initiative aimed to raise awareness and provide direct, practical guidance to local blue swimming crab fishermen on the importance of protecting endangered wildlife. Participants learned proper and safe handling techniques for ETP species and marine mammals, as well as the significance of maintaining accurate, sustainable fisheries data collection.

The training session was led by M. Bagus Satria, S.Kel., M.Agr., General Manager of Fishery Improvement Project (FIP) Implementation at APRI. Under his guidance, attendees gained valuable insights into conservation practices that support both marine biodiversity and the long-enduring viability of the blue swimming crab fishery.
