PT. Sumber Kemenangan Sejahtera Abadi (SKSA) Distributes Bubu Fishing Gear to Fishermen in Waruduwur, Cirebon

PT SKSA has once again carried out the distribution of environmentally friendly bubu (crab pot) fishing gear, this time targeting fishermen in Waruduwur, Cirebon, one of Indonesia’s key blue swimming crab (rajungan) production centers. The program is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting sustainable and responsible crab fisheries.

Supporting Production Area

Cirebon is widely recognized as an important hub for the blue swimming crab commodity, contributing significantly to local livelihoods and the national seafood supply chain. Through the distribution of bubu fishing gear, PT SKSA aims to strengthen sustainable fishing practices while helping fishermen maintain productivity and catch quality.

The program focuses on encouraging the use of selective and environmentally friendly fishing gear that supports long-term resource management.

Bubu Distribution in Waruduwur, Cirebon

The bubu distribution activity was conducted in Waruduwur, Cirebon, involving local fishing communities who actively depend on rajungan fishing. Along with the handover of fishing gear, PT SKSA also provided guidance on the proper use of bubu traps and emphasized best practices in responsible fishing.

Fishermen welcomed the initiative, noting that bubu traps are effective in catching rajungan while minimizing damage to the marine environment.

Promoting Sustainable and Responsible Crab Fisheries

Bubu fishing gear is known for its stationary and selective design, which helps reduce bycatch and supports healthier marine ecosystems. By promoting the use of bubu traps, PT SKSA contributes to efforts to ensure that rajungan fisheries remain sustainable and economically viable.

This approach also aligns with broader sustainability goals within Indonesia’s fisheries sector, particularly in regions that serve as major production centers like Cirebon.

PT SKSA’s Ongoing Commitment

The bubu distribution in Waruduwur marks PT SKSA’s continued commitment to working alongside fishing communities to promote responsible fisheries management. Through equipment support and community engagement, the company aims to help secure the future of rajungan fisheries while supporting coastal livelihoods.

PT SKSA plans to continue similar initiatives in other strategic fishing areas, reinforcing sustainable practices across Indonesia’s blue swimming crab industry.
