The Indonesian Blue Swimming Crab Association (Asosiasi Pengelolaan Rajungan Indonesia – APRI) continued its commitment to sustainable fisheries by hosting two comprehensive training sessions for local blue swimming crab fishermen in Lamongan Regency, held at the Kemantren Village Hall in Paciran.

The strategic training program focused on two core pillars:

Mitigation and Handling of ETP (Endangered, Threatened, and Protected) Species & Marine Mammals — Equipping fishermen with best practices for safely releasing and protecting vulnerable marine wildlife encountered during operations.

Blue Swimming Crab Fisheries Data Recording Training — Enhancing the transparency, accuracy, and consistency of catch data collection to support responsible, science-based fisheries management.

This special event was graced by the Acting Head of the Lamongan Regency Fisheries Office, Mr. Joko Nursiyanto, S.H., M.H., alongside representatives from Gapokkan (fishermen association groups), fisheries extension officers, and local village officials. This collaborative effort highlights a strong multi-stakeholder commitment to safeguarding the marine ecosystem and securing the future of Lamongan’s coastal communities.
