Surabaya, April 17, 2026 — The APRI 1st Quarterly Meeting (Q1) 2026 successfully brought together industry stakeholders, government representatives, and APRI members to discuss the current condition, opportunities, and future challenges of Indonesia’s blue swimming crab fisheries sector, along with other strategic fisheries commodities.

The event also served as a meaningful Halal bi Halal gathering, strengthening friendship, collaboration, and solidarity among all APRI members after the Eid celebration.

The meeting was officially opened with remarks from APRI Chairman, Dr. Ir. Kuncoro Catur Nugroho, M.M., who highlighted the latest developments in Indonesia’s fisheries industry. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of sustainability, market competitiveness, and innovation in maintaining the growth of the blue swimming crab sector amid global industry dynamics.

Discussing Opportunities and Challenges in the Fisheries Industry

During the Q1 meeting, participants explored a wide range of important topics related to the blue swimming crab supply chain, from upstream fisheries management to downstream processing and export development. The event was attended by key representatives from the Indonesian fisheries sector, including Ir. Widya Rusyanto, M.Si, Head of the Post-Harvest Quality Center at BPPMHKP-KKP, and Erwin Dwiyana, S.Pi., M.Sc., Director of Marketing at DJPDSPKP-KKP.

Their participation reinforced the importance of collaboration between industry associations and government institutions in supporting sustainable fisheries development and strengthening Indonesia’s seafood export competitiveness in the global market.
