APRI 2nd Quarterly Meeting 2019, Surabaya, July 20, 2019

Blue swimming crab fisheries is a fisheries that involving various stakeholders and supply chains. Involvement of many of these stakeholders and supply chains need a good management where every parties have their respective responsibilities and collaborated each others to make sustainable and better blue swimming crab fisheries. APRI as an organization that focuses on blue swimming crab fisheries and involving blue swimming crab industry, was done various activities and programs to maintain and improving the blue swimming crab fisheries. APRI realized that the activities and programs must be updated and informed to the members of APRI and realized the necessity of the improvement of member’s knowledge.

APRI has a quarterly meeting to facilitated those reasons and as a facility for every subjects in APRI to change ideas and discuss. In 2019, APRI was organized the 2nd quarterly meeting which was attended by the representatives of every members of APRI where held on July 20, 2019 in VASA Hotel, Surabaya. In this quarterly meeting, also attended by Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP) and one review company. There was several agendas including update of industrial issue, the information from NFI Crab Council, information update of Fisheries Improvement Program (FIP), and internal discussion.

This quarterly meeting started by the opening statements from the Chairman of APRI Mr. Kuncoro Catur Nugroho who also presenting the update of industrial issue and then continued by Dr. Abdul Ghofar as the Sustainable Envoy of NFI Crab Council who is talking about the sustainability of blue swimming crab and industry. Fisheries Improvement Program (FIP) presented by Dr. Hawis Madduppa as Executive Director of APRI through information update and the programs that is and will be conducted. The last agenda, that is the internal meeting of the APRI lead by Mr. Bambang Arif Nugraha as General Secretary of APRI, where there was several things to be discussed, including the responses, inputs, sugestion, and obstacles that faces by members of APRI.

The quarterly meeting being the facility for every subjects in APRI to inform the responses, inputs, suggestion, or the obstacles encountered and will be discussed and solved together. Member of APRI very active participated in the quarterly meeting until finished, and we can see that everyone in APRI always support the sustainable of blue swimming crab fisheries.
