The discussion was held in Hotel Santika Bogor and followed by Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), and also Indonesian Blue Swimming Crab Association (APRI). Previous discussion was held in May 2015 in Bali. Update all participant on recent work, improvements and developments occuring within I-Fish, Discussion on draft document pertaining to data sharing and ownership, I-Fish update, Vessel Identifier Code (VIC) system, and participatory data architecture are the following objectives in the I-Fish Working Group Discussion.

I-Fish is an online fisheries database, storing data collected from port sampling activities of small-scale fisheries across Indonesia. I-Fish provides fishery-specific data, such as fishery activity by fishing ground and gear. The objective of the I-Fish port sampling approach is to create a platform which allows the private sector and/or Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to submit data on a fishery, for improved management. It is the aim that Data Management Committees (DMCs) are established in each province where data-collection occurs, which act as multi-stakeholder forums for discussions on the use of data to support management measures in the province/management area. Currently, I-Fish exists in two formats: the government version and the community version.

The discussions are divided into several sessions. The first topic is the explanation about Participatory Data Architecture concept for use in I-Fish by Mohamad Lutfi. The second topic is the I-Fish website and VIC system updates by Mika Winata. The third topic is explanation about I-Fish implementation update in the field by Wildan. Also there is presentation from WCS on Grouper Monitoring system designed by themselves. And the last session is final discussion lead by Momo Kochen with the following topics is formalization of the I-Fish working group, Next step of technically connecting databases, formalization of the DMC approach, and the next step after the discussion.

Internal discussion by government (KKP) pertaining to I-Fish formalization, request for running the government version of I-Fish, official documents preparations of I-Fish for the next evaluation by the government, clarify the coordination of the Data Management Committees (DMC), official announcement to PUSDATIN for the installation of I-Fish in their server are the results of the final discussions.
